Here's another one of my "ideas" :oops: ...let's see if we can make this work!

Since I started dipnetting with the club a few months ago, I quickly realized that my biggest thrill came from collecting new species, so I began keeping track of what I was catching and where, and as you all know by now, also taking pictures of each fish. As my list of species grew, I decided to find a medium to publish the list and add to it. I originally intended to post this up on my website, but I decided I would rather make it a part of the forum...
So, with Matt's encouragement, I set out to create an index of sorts with all the species that I've collected and photographed. The intention here is to provide a system whereby dipnetters can come to us to find out what fish there are to be caught in our waters; where they can go to catch them, and have pictures to identify the fish. This should eventually bring in more traffic to the forums and make us a source of information for local and out of state dipnetters as well.

This is a work in progress and all your input is appreciated. The thread will be locked, so as to keep it strictly on topic. Any comments, suggestions or corrections, please send me a private message :)

This is the format we are going to start with. If need be it can be changed, but i feel it provides the necessary amount of information:

Common name(s):
Scientific name:
Collection location(s):
Collection methods(s):
Collector(s):
Notes:
Image(s):

I will start out with the species that I have collected myself or other club members have collected and I have photographed.
Please contribute to the forum! Send me information on all the species YOU have collected, but please follow the format given above.
Because this index is of species collected by GCAS members only, WE ARE ONLY USING IMAGES OF THE FISH WE CATCH - NO IMAGES FOUND ONLINE OR IN BOOKS!

At the time we are also going to have to work around some forum limitations, so please bare with us while we get them sorted out.

The fish are separated into categories, and each category will be posted individually, which in turn I hope will make things more organized.
You will find navigation links at the bottom of each post to help you move around easily.

Enjoy!
